Kenya: Drives RIGHT → Rwanda; left → Kenya/Uganda.

All Gen4; the pickup truck is usually covered by one big blur - sometimes fully visible: big white or brown pickup w/ brakelight + camera mount

Coverage has a noticeable hazy tint, esp. in the sky

Senegal: Hills + red vests → Rwanda; flat sandy Sahel → Senegal.

Brick & concrete single-family houses, often steep roofs + fences; signature 'ventilation bricks' in many walls

The ventilation-brick rows are the Rwandan architecture tell.

Generally hilly (not truly mountainous); soil w/ a noticeable red tint; eucalyptus + banana plants everywhere

Multiple red-white cylindrical bollards; various white concrete waystones

Streets remarkably clean; kerbs painted black-white; villa areas w/ tall security walls; drives on the right

All motorcyclists wear red vests & helmets (required by law)

Coverage limited: Kigali + a few patches (still expanding)

Street names carry a 2-letter district code; national-road lampposts have the road number painted in black + a lamp number that (usually) rises away from Kigali; lamp-arm style varies consistently by national road (map)

Tea plantations → west; NE = gentler rolling hills + open farmland/grassland; volcanoes + volcanic rock → NW; Akagera NP = dry but vegetated, wide reddish-brown unpaved roads, rectangular waystones, brown car

Road spotlights: Nyungwe Forest NP = lush hilly, NR10 paved w/ lines + French-style bollards + green lamps, NR26 mostly paved w/o lines (brown car); NR11 north of Mabanza = all-white lines; NR15 Muhanga→West border = potholed & lineless, then unpaved along a red-dirt cliffside; NR16 = the only road w/ predominantly dashed outer lines; wide river along NE Kigali; Kigali coverage = mostly rich villa areas; Butare = cobblestone streets
