Almost all tripods show historic mosques: mud brick + adobe plaster, walls decorated w/ protruding wooden sticks; interiors = adobe + prayer rugs; some exteriors are pinpointable streets
Generally arid - sandy dry surroundings separate Mali tripods from other countries' tripods instantly

Pinpointable tripods: Niono mosque = busy wide sandy dirty road + trees at the walls ('Centre Commercial' on the map helps); interior = unique 'European-style' pillars; Sidi Yahiya (Timbuktu) = bread-slice-shaped tiles (Mali-unique) + peachy-orange bricks, interior yellow w/ unpainted brick base; Djingareyber (Timbuktu) = rectangular-tile street, interior yellow walls + wide round arches + red carpet
Non-pinpointable tripods: Sankoré (Timbuktu) = very sandy + pyramid tower + decorated wood-metal doors, interior blue carpet + low wood-beam ceiling; Gao = desolate reddish dirt, pyramid structure full of dry branches; Djenné = the iconic open mud-mosque front, dark interior w/ gothic arches + sandy courtyard; Mopti = like Djenné but trees at the walls + some clouds + narrower streets, interior open w/ blue carpet + no arches
'Bamako' mosque (misplaced! actually rural): empty modern mosque w/ light-blue walls + pink floor, yard w/ yellow-orange concrete walls; Bandiagara Escarpment = rocky gorge w/ dry trees - the only fully rural coverage; misplaced misc tripods hidden inside the Sankoré coverage (tour office, classroom, streets)
